In Savile Row terms, 25 years is not a long time and in 1992, Richard James was the first of the New Establishment luxury retailers to appear on Savile Row, offering gentlemen fresh perspectives on the design, colour and cut of traditional tailoring. Working in partnership with the finest British woollen mills and the most accomplished British and Italian artisans, Richard James offers classic clothing, exclusive fabrics and beautifully crafted accessories.
Following strong global growth and international acclaim, Richard James launched Mayfair, its contemporary, diffusion line, in 2010. Mayfair is sold through John Lewis in the UK and Barney’s in the US. Richard James Mayfair offers the modern gentleman traditional Savile Row tailoring, with the exquisite details you’d expect to find, at an affordable price.
This Blue Steel jacket is made from 84% wool and 16% mohair so it’s beautifully soft with a subtle iridescent finish. Cut slim, the jacket has a two-button front, notch lapels and smartly slanted flap side pockets, four button cuffs and two vents on the reverse. Dashing indeed.
As you’d expect from Savile Row, there are plentiful pockets in the jacket: a welt breast pocket – consider this Italian-made silk pocket square – and three interior pockets.
You can also buy matching trousers and a waistcoat – that’s a luxury suit for under £600 – the jacket alone is a seriously good buy that will serve you well for years to come. £250, Click To Shop
