Back in the Summer, Tilly Marsden reviewed Green People Sun Lotion for us. Last weekend, Tilly and her boyfriend James Parkin were in Shoreditch, and James treated himself to a traditional wet shave at Jack the Clipper, on Toynbee Street, E1. (They also have barber shops in Mayfair and Brick Lane.)

The shave began with the barber lathering up a storm with a traditional brush and soap, as shown in the first picture. Then, the shave itself, with a traditional cut-throat razor to help James look trim and proppa. Jack The Clipper has been in business since 1996, however the company was first established in 1888, by what was, and still is, London’s first and biggest Turkish Master Barber family.
Following a fully luxurious shave, including neck fluff removal and eyebrow trim (ear flames and threading are also available), the barber finished the shave by draping an invigorating hot towel over James’s face. And here’s the result:
